A week ago I was experimenting with a remote setup using Olympus Studio software to try and photograph birds that visit our backyard.
I placed a small piece of turf I dug from the yard on top of the deck railing in an area that gave a somewhat pleasing background and placed a handful of bird seed in the center of the grass. I then set my E-3 with a ZD 40-150mm lens on a tripod about six feet from the subject. Using a laptop within the house connected to the camera with a 15 foot USB cord, I remotely controlled exposures. The above image was the best result out of approximately 100 images.

Richard, the color and the detail are excellent as is your choice of background. But that is one angry looking bird!
Gorgeous color and detail. Would have never thought such a ‘common’ bird had such color and beauty! Exquisite image.
