It was a cold, snowy afternoon and this little guest was busy digging for whatever seeds were hidden under the snow on our deck.

The image was taken through a patio glass door at 1/125th of a second, f4.5 (wide open at 150mm using the Zuiko 40-150mm) and ISO 800 using image stabilization. I didn’t want to drop to 1/60th of a second and because I didn’t, the image was underexposed by about 1 stop. Underexposing at 800 ISO using a 4-thirds sensor usually spells disaster due to noise levels though with the use of Noise Ninja, I feel I was able to save the image… at least for 5×7 or smaller.

The light was so “cool” that I had to use a white balance of 9000K, +1 tint to get the color balance in the image presented.
