We woke up Sunday morning with this snowman from another world staring at us from across the road. It seems our neighbors and their friends were up to some creative fun Saturday evening. The creature brought a smile to both of us… one of the best things that has happened within our community in some time.

I couldn’t help but try a solarization technique provided by Nik software to further add to the otherworldliness. In the old days, back when we walked to school and communicated face to face , the solarization effect could be created by exposing the print or negative while in the developer to a light source for a brief moment. The brightness and color of the light and how long the light was on, all affected the final result. Today, it can be done with a few mouse clicks and the movement of some virtual sliders.
